After making ice cream in a bag, students asked if we could make ice cream again...only this time, they wanted more than just a few spoonfuls! It's a good thing my teaching neighbor, Mrs. Hahn, has an ice cream maker!
After making the ice cream, we made a graph of our favorite kind of ice cream, the choices being chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. As you can see in the picture below, vanilla won by a landslide! We also added a page in our science journals regarding ice cream and our five senses. Students recorded how the ice cream tasted, felt, smelled, looked, and sounded. Here are the pictures from that day.
I also attached the recipe...per request of my students. They all claimed it was the best ice cream they had ever tasted, although it could have been the brownie that was served with the ice cream that put it over the edge!
